hehe.. Laptops are a bit tougher to "know" what's in them unless you configured or built it yourself.
As for my current rig it's:
ASUS P5K-E Wifi
Intel E8400 (2.66Ghz running at 4.2Ghz water cooled)
2GB Crucial Ballistix at 4.4.4.12
SATA2 500GB (Will be running 2 more shortly in RAID)
ATI 3650 w512 (crappy temp card until I get my 8800 =P )
LG 19in Wide + LG 22in Wide screens
The system still needs a bit of work, but compared to my old one, this thing is nice!

Damn I *wish* I had your folks pc's! lol
Mine is so crap, though it's to be expected since I've not upgraded much save for RAM and Graphics card for like, 5 years...
AMD Athlon XP 2500+ (1.8ghz)
Soyo black dragon KT400-8235 mobo
1.280 g ram
ATI Sapphire X1650pro 512m onboard memory
25" flatscreen CRT monitor
16X Pioneer DVD+-RW hacked to region free
Maxtor 230G hd with an external USB Seagate "free agent" 320g hd
Running Windows XP Home.
I think if it weren't for my Vidcard I just wouldn't bother playing WoW at all. lol
I'm tempted to buy a cheap Dell quad core with 2g ram and the best videocard they offer on a payment plan as I want higher frames with all the bells and whistles turned on in my games.

I've been a bit Lazy when it comes to upgrading the PC.
I have a old AMD 4000 running on a ASUS Nforce 4 chipset.
Eventually I upgraded the ram to 4 GB, even if XP will only see 3 GB of Ram.
Thanks to a video card death I dropped in a ATI Radeon HD4850 video card, which keeps the rest the system current enough for most gaming.
Old Maxtor Sata 250 gb drive.
Certain pieces are worth upgrading: I use a Dell 2407 monitor, knowing a good monitor should last at least 5 years. Speakers as Klipsch THX 3 piece, good sound without a mountain of wires for the cat. External microphome, and a really old school clicky style keyboard with a USB connection.
the case is an old Lian-Li all aluminum model with 4 fans.. no special doors or open sides, just a quiet black box that suffers from a cat who thinks the top fan is a good napping spot. On the bright side, even with the cat sitting on the case there's never been heat issues.

well i got mine sorta at a steal even though i did build it myself and yet im so pissed off cuz 2 weeks later they had almost the exact same specs (different processor) for about 200 bucks less at best buy. but here it is

mobo: msi mobo with 2 x16 pci-e ports
ram: 3g ddr2
gfx: geforce 8500gt factory overclocked (dont ask me why they overclocked this card)
sound: soundblaster audigy fx
PSU: 550w
all for eh 800 bucks at the time about a year ago its still runs really nice

I have a scrapped Fan Controller and Alot of blue LED Fans planning a new respray but not sure yet.
